The Landscape of Grief
Format: Interactive multimedia activity
Audience: People reflecting on grief
The Landscape of Grief is a reflective mapping activity that helps people chart how grief changes over time. Learners record difficult periods, moments of relief, significant events, and sources of support across a visual landscape. The activity acknowledges that grief rarely follows a straight or predictable path.
I first developed the experience as part of the Transcending Loss workbook, but it can also function as a stand-alone reflection tool. Animated elements and interactive prompts guide users through the activity without prescribing what grief should look like or how quickly someone should recover.
